Last year, I applied and got in for the Young African Media Fellowship (YAMF). My editor at Desert Bloom Advisory, Ides Ofune sent me the link and encouraged me to apply. This fellowship changed my life and view about telling African stories—our stories and my reality.
I started last year with this amazing interview with Paul Owolabi, Research Assistant & Bioinformatics Master's student at CApIC-ACE, Covenant University, Ogun state, Nigeria. You can read it here.
For this series called Science Unseen, we will be meeting Africans in different science fields who are pursuing their dreams.

And for you, my dear reader,
You will meet Kareem Yusuf, an agricultural science and precision agriculture enthusiast, while Idris Momodu takes us into what it’s like to be a science lecturer in Nigeria.
We will virtually travel to Ekiti State, South Western Nigeria where Bamidele Olajuyigbe, a conservationist at the Ise Forest Reserve tells us about his job and of course his ideas on how we can improve animal conservation in Africa.
You might have to catch your breath with Chinaza Nwanya’s life as a clinical trial research in the busiest city in Nigeria. Then hop on the imaginary ride with Olaitan Owoyemi as he shows us the business side of science.
Sometimes it is neither employment nor research interest issue, it’s finding a problem and solving it. We will be rounding off the series on with Christopher Olowosoke. Christopher is the co-founder of IBMT and we will learn how he found a gap in the Nigerian Education system and built a business and solution around it.
Officially, I bid you welcome to the Science Unseen Series.
