Hey there!

Welcome here, I am Ruth Torty, editor and chief writer of Sayensị Africa. It's a corporate way of saying I write the content. I work as a creative outside here; writing, organizing, thinking, and a lot more.

Me in 2022, somewhere in my sister's kitchen 😂

In 2020, I wandered around the internet searching for information about science communication, and genetic disorders research, although it was present, it wasn’t enough.

We need more... For other people like me right now and someplace in the future, we need a space for African scientists. A place where we can get access to opportunities, resources, and events for us and by us.

I want to create that space here, in your email every week. A place where you don't have to double-check if events and opportunities are accessible to you. I believe we are creating a powerful narrative around science in Africa, the problem is that there are Africans who do not know about it.

Get Access To:

  • Resources include science tools, how-to articles, courses, hacks, and work and study opportunities.

  • Events & Opportunities update, both virtual and physical.

  • Article Reviews

  • Interviews with students, communicators, and professionals.

  • Reflections.

  • Articles, books, and podcast recommendations for science, graduate school, science communication, and much more.

  • Lots of fun and community bonding 😎

Welcome to the Sayensị community again and kindly subscribe if you have not done so.

Opportunities, resources, events for African scientists

People

Ambitious about creating a space for Science in Africa. Creative. Reading articles is my biggest distraction.
